A pregnant stripper, her controlling boyfriend, and his lollipop licking rottweiler. And a night nurse. And a pretty awkward confrontation for Stina, the stripper in question. Angel is a short film about life choices, inheritance, and longing.
Not wanting to die alone meets stripper
Once apon a time, Lisa Svelmøe read an article about night nurses. She became fascinated: Are we so afraid to die alone that we'll hire a nurse to watch over us in our final hours? The thought about the odd job ended up at the fingertips of Mariann Sofiasdóttir's script writing hands and ended in a proposal Lisa just couldn't say no to. The idea of a stripper walking into the wrong house, being met with nothing but death and a night nurse. The script evolved from there, ending up with the Angel you can see above.
The meeting of it all
We're introduced to Stinna. Her life is seemingly not that great with an asshole of a boyfriend and a daughter in foster care. Heavily pregnant, she slithers and twists her body in front of college kids to keep her boyfriend fed. She's not happy, but she is stuck. Then a call and an unexpected client changes... Something. As we learn more about Stinna's past, the curious meeting might actually have the power to change her present.
